Bumpdate-- 23 & 24 Weeks (I suck)

I made it to 24 weeks! Viability. :)

BG has been a moving and a shaking lately-- all throughout the day and night. It's so much fun. She definitely loves country music and literally stopped dancing when Lil Wayne came on the radio. Too funny. Just like mama.

My back got really bad last week and I decided to call the nurse line. I hate to be that lady but I wasn't able to walk or even roll over. It was super scary. They seem to think she's hanging out on a nerve and I just need her to move. The nurse said to have some OJ and bounce on the ball (to get her to move). Thank goodness! Luckily I woke up this morning feeling a little better. Our girl is super stubborn!

I had my first real pregnancy brain fail and locked myself out of our parking garage. Sweet.

Luckily my husband only had about an hour or so left of his shift so I just went to Target until I could get him. Then he had to run up and get the keys so I could get inside. Sigh.

How far along? 24W1D

Maternity Clothes? Yup. Did some more shopping this week-- got this bathing suit and a few other things from Pea in a Pod and Motherhood. I'll be sure to take some pictures of everything!

Stretch Marks: Sigh, just under my boob. Sorry if the word boob offends you.

Sleep: Sleep is amazeballs. Went to bed the other night at 11PM and woke up at 10:30 AM. Seriously, I cannot get enough sleep these days.

Best moment this week: Definitely sleeping in yesterday until 10:30 in the morning and then going and getting a mani/pedi.

We also got some sweet clothes from one of my husband's work friends. Seriously, people are way too kind!

Um, is there anything cuter than a pink snowsuit? I think not.

Miss anything? Going to Target, grabbing any size small bathing suit they sold and checking out. Life was much simpler then. Also-- unlimited Diet Coke, a sub sandwich, and sleeping on my belly.

Craving anything? A yogurt parfait, hot dog/hamburger with baked beans, and fruit. Fruit, fruit, fruit.

Movement: She's a little night owl. Can clearly feel movement from the outside but still have to be sitting still and "focus". She gets the hiccups a few times a day. I learned they were hiccups because you can't feel those on the outside, duh.

Anything making you queasy or sick? Just butter and garlic. Our oven smells awful. Here's to hoping that the oven in our new apartment will smell better..or is it just the oven in general?

Have you started to show yet? I guess. The guy who did my nails asked me if I was pregnant, which I thought was a pretty daring question!

Gender: Precious little gal! And I can't wait to get confirmation on Wednesday at our ultrasound, LOL.

Labor signs: Nope

Belly button in or out: In, looking shallow though.

Wedding rings on or off: On

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy and blessed!

Looking forward to: Family visiting (it's too many people to list at this point), moving, and our beach vacation.

Life Lately-- June 22nd

Happy Summer! I hope someone reading this is going out by the pool with a cold drink. Please, do it for me. And get some sun for me. My husband commented on how white my belly is..he really knows how to compliment a woman. :)

Today I am propped up in my special position hoping to God my back gets better before we move and go on vacation. We're on week 2 so I doubt it will. Sweet.

I've been reading my newest book all day and am about halfway through. I finally finished The Thinking Woman's Guide to a Better Birth and definitely recommend it. I know it sounds crazy but I may bring it with me when I have BG..ha ha!

(More on pregnancy/baby reading here).

So we move a week from Monday (9 days, people) and my apartment looks like a junk yard. It's so embarrassing.

Henry hates moving more than I do.

Luckily we sort of have a "system" and it all makes sense in my head. Everything is in sections by what room it belongs in and we've kept it pretty well labeled. I'm sure that will change between now and next Monday.

It will be so worth it though once we're in our new place. BG's stuff is starting to take over our living room and it will be so nice to throw it all in her nursery.

Once we get back from our vacation, we'll be in full on nursery decorating mode. Woo hoo!

My sister sent me this picture a few weeks ago-- apparently the dogs and I were featured on the show Snapped on Lifetime. This was taken when we lived in Orlando.

To be honest I thought she was drunk texting me because it was so completely random. So yeah, we're on TV, people.

Note the dust. Awesome.

Several weeks ago we took a couple hours and went through every inch of the house. We dumped/donated everything we weren't using. Luckily we do this almost every 3-5 months that it's never very much stuff.

Something was stuck in my drawer so I managed to pull the drawer out, but couldn't put it back. It was so heavy I was worried I would hurt BG picking it up. So it sat there for a good 24 hours before my husband got around to putting it back for me.

That is it for now! Cannot wait to post from our new place and report how it's going! Love all of you and thank you for all the sweet emails, etc! xO

Bumpdate-- 22 Weeks

So I'm terribly behind because tomorrow marks 23 weeks, but who's counting.

We are in a full moving chaos and BG stays up late into the night moving and dancing. She is so much like her dad already!

My back is still killing me. Last night I cried about it and my poor husband stood there asking if I was going to take the dogs out or if he should. Sigh. First thing Monday morning I will be calling all the chiropractors in the metro DC area and hopefully I can get a fix. It's to the point where walking is killing me.

My husband Googled and found that this position is supposed to relieve the pressure. It. Is. Amazing. You can bet I sat in this position all day today while making my work calls.

Had a checkup on Wednesday and everything looked great! BG's HB was 140ish which is pretty normal at this point. I was reminded once again to start getting some thoughts together for a birth plan, so that needs to happen here shortly.

How far along? 22W6D

Maternity Clothes? Same. Wore my grey shorts to my appointment the other day. Need to find a cute bathing suit before our beach trip in 2 weeks..yikes. And maybe a cute coverup or dress.

Stretch Marks: Something is under my boob but all clear besides that.

Sleep: Sleeping great. Hard. Cannot get enough sleep, ever. It's kind of like when I had mono-- I could sleep for 12 hours and still want a nap every day. Everyone says sleep before the baby comes so I'm taking full advantage of that. :)

Best moment this week: My sweet friends who keep sending me stuff! My friend Melissa had twins in February so she sent lots of newborn clothes.

She didn't send the dog or stuffed cardinal, ahem.

My friend Brittany sent this book-- too sweet!

We are just so thankful for these things! To me, used stuff from friends is way more special than something brand new. Pre loved is the best!

Also got my last shipment of fluffy mail! We are totally stocked and ready for BG. At least in the diaper department. Everything else? Not so ready.

Maybe one day I'll post more on CD'ing but for now, it's been fun to organize and get them ready for BG.

Miss anything? What do you think? Unlimited Diet Coke, sleeping on my belly, and my back not hurting me.

Craving anything? Nothing really. Hotdogs, but you're not supposed to eat them. Did that stop me from inhaling 2 one night before bed? Heck no.

Cannot get enough fruit! Once a week we walk to the store and spend about $30-$35 just on fruit for me. I come home and spend about a half hour cutting it up and it makes the best fruit salad. Watermelon and cantaloupe are my favorite. :-)

Movement: She moves and she shakes. Mostly after eating a sweet or at bedtime. Her kicks are getting much more noticeable. The doctor reminded me anything constant for a few minutes is the hiccups, not kicks. How sweet!

Anything making you queasy or sick? Garlic, chlorine, and butter. Butter is grossing me out lately!

Have you started to show yet? You could say so. The sweet neighbor girl came up to me and asked if we were expecting and was so excited. Then my dogs proceeded to run out of our apartment and greet her dog. Did I mention she's engaged to the manager of our apartment building? We. Are. Going. To. Be. Kicked. Out.

Gender: Daddy's little girl!

Someone posted in my birth board (October 2013 on BabyCenter, it's like a forum with a bunch of ladies) that her "girl" turned into a boy. I'm officially freaked out! Her first scan was at 18 weeks and at the 24 week ultrasound, she had a boy! Yikes.

Labor signs: None

Belly button in or out: In

Wedding rings on or off: On

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy/excited/blessed!

Looking forward to: Our move and our beach vacation. Actually, just the beach vacation at this point. I'm so sick of moving.

Five Question Friday-- June 14th

Happy Friday, y'all! I can't believe it's five o'clock and I'm just now starting this..whoops. Next week I'll be better..maybe.

We have nothing planned this weekend besides pack and clean up. We are a little behind in the packing department so I'd like to get back on top of it this weekend. We only have a little over two weeks until our move!

My back is killing me-- not sure if it's a pregnancy related thing or from my working out (too much? bad shoes?). I see the doctor Wednesday and maybe he can tell me if this is a normal pregnancy pain (my guess). In the mean time my husband has forbid me from my favorite part of they day..my lovely 4 mile walks/runs! Boo.

1. Do you know where I can buy the cloth wipes you have? (Pictured here)

Sorry, I do not! I won them in a giveaway and it was through an Etsy shop. I definitely recommend searching Etsy-- I'm sure there are thousands on there!

2. Are you really going to use cloth diapers? Gross! How does it work?

Yup! The ones I have (so far) are AIOs (All in ones) so after BG uses it, we will put it in a pail (and eventually into the washer to be washed). Some are velcro (my husband preferred those), so it really does work just like a disposable diaper. The snaps are a little bit more work to put on, so I'll probably stick to buying velcro from now on.

When BG poops you just throw it away and put the diaper in the pail. Not a big deal.

3. Do you always wear your seat belt?

Yup!

4. Do you dream? Do you remember them?

Yes, some nights I remember my dreams. Since being pregnant I have very vivid and sometimes scary dreams.

5. What do you appreciate most about your children's dad?

Well I technically don't have children yet, but I guess I can answer this! I appreciate that he works hard and still will spend time with us (his little family!) when he get home, he puts his family first, and he supports (and encourages) me through this whole new/weird/crazy/fun experience.

Woo hoo! Okay people-- enjoy your weekend! xO

Bumpdate-- 21 Weeks

21 weeks-- where has the time gone?! So much has been happening. I feel BG kick/move all throughout the day (only when sitting/laying down, not when I'm up and moving yet) and it's really amazing. Truly a miracle! My husband can feel her too and is obsessed with telling her how much I eat.

He (for the second time) told me my hips are getting wider. He also asked if they "go back to how they were after the baby comes". He's a jerk but I like him a little bit.

How far along? 21W5D

Maternity clothes? Same! Here's a pic of the clothes I got when my MIL was here. Guess it's hard to see but the shorts are a grey cargo-ish material (very comfy) and just a black T-shirt from Target. Super comfy!

I never wear shorts that go above my knees (super insecure of my thighs..super) but these are OK!

Stretch Marks? We had a minor scare on Sunday.. Ha ha! I was doing my usual inspection (sitting on our bathroom counter with my big 'ole belly shoved in the mirror) and noticed something under my boob (sorry if "boob" makes you uncomfortable).

After 10 minutes of Googling and a loud scream causing my husband to run into the bathroom like he was trained to do for shots fired, it was just a weird varicose vein. Phew!

Sleep: Sleeping great. Fell asleep the other night at 6PM and woke up around midnight ready to party. Finally crashed around 1AM and slept until after 8. I've said it before.. good thing I work from home. :)

Still can't stay cool enough while I sleep. Ice packs are awesome! Noticing it's not to easy to move from side to side anymore. I'm very slow going from a laying position to a sitting position. It's kind of funny.

Best moment this week: Finishing BG's bookcase! It looks way better than I ever could have imagined. I'm almost glad the stencil didn't work out because it looks so much better like this!

These were all items I had around the house-- wreath from Target (Easter, probably discontinued by now), frames and prints from Ikealittle book from Ikea, headband from Target, and cloth wipes from a random giveaway I won.

Hmm. Registering at BRU was fun. Seeing my husband push around a stroller and charge it into a carousel of clothes was way fun.

Miss anything? Do we have to go through this every week? I miss Diet Coke. Bathing suit season. I got the VS catalog and about choked on my Lucky Charms.

Craving anything? Cannot get enough Greek yogurt, Lucky Charms (with lots of milk), and string cheese.

Movement: My little mover/dancer/shaker! She is active all throughout the day. Definitely a night owl like her daddy. Feeling kicks/movement to one side so maybe she has changed positions. We'll see when we go to our next appointment!

Anything making you queasy or sick? Garlic, the oven being on, peanut butter, and popcorn.

Have you started to show yet? Sure?

Gender: My BG!

Labor signs: Nope

Belly button in or out: In

Wedding rings on or off: On

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy, blessed, and excited! And crazy. Always a little crazy.

Looking forward to: Our big move, vacation, my dad coming, in laws coming, 4th of July BBQing, and getting more Lucky Charms (and milk..we're out of milk)!

I ordered Hypnobabies a few weeks back and it finally came in. We're so excited! After lots of thorough research, my husband and I think this is the best way to go for our birth experience.

I'll be sure to post more about this when I have time. We are super excited about it though!

And the most exciting thing of the week..got my first order of fluffy mail! There is seriously nothing better. These are Thirsties Duo AIOs and I'm totally in love.

After doing the math and then forcing my husband to do the math, cloth is definitely cheaper (and cuter, by the way). He preferred the AIOs that can be completely thrown in the laundry after 1 use.

We still registered for a box of NB disposable diapers and a box of Size 1 disposable diapers for those days we're too tired to do laundry in the beginning, but we'll be using cloth most of the time.

I'm sure I'll find a way to sneak these Charlie Banana CDs into our stash without him finding out!

Okay people! That is it for this week! xO

Wordless Wednesday-- June 12th

Water sharers

Enjoy your Wednesday, people. And be sure to meet our newest family member! xO

Henry

We have a new family member...meet Henry!

My love for Henry started long before I got pregnant. I've always loved giraffes any animal and several of my friends were buying this giraffe for their kids. I was in love! (Side note: It's taking everything in me to not buy the giant stuffed tiger, elephant, and lion).

How weird would it be for a grown married couple to have a 5 foot tall plush giraffe in their apartment?

Pretty weird.

Enter BG. Once I got pregnant, I was getting that darn giraffe.

Ahem. At 19 weeks exactly? BG got her first stuffed animal..Henry!

He is the coolest thing since sliced bread. Yes, he is exactly five feet tall and can be pretty freaking scary when standing in a dark room. Just sayin'.

Henry pretty much hangs out wherever we are-- he comes in the living room when we have dinner, the office when I work, and lately he comes to bed with us. Ha!

That only worked for one night. I woke up to pee around 3AM and almost peed myself when I saw him. :(

Not cool, Henry, not cool.

We have a ridiculous time scaring each other with Henry, though. I put him in the shower one afternoon for my husband to find..priceless!

Here's Henry and the dogs waiting for my husband to get home from work. Another priceless scare-- I shut off the lights and waited for him to scream. :-) My husband loves me.

I'm sure this is coming but yes-- once we move, Henry will be living in the nursery. He is 100% for BG and I hope she enjoys him as much as her parents have.

All for now! Send your love to Henry. xO

Life According to my Phone-- June 11th

One evening when I was getting ready for bed Oreo Jack brought me that. Really? He loves apples! He was so proud of himself for getting it out of the trash.

Have I ever mentioned about how he "grooms" her? Every so often (maybe a few times a day), Oreo and Cocoa play and then he licks her eyes. At first she hates it but then she lays down and they snuggle. I don't get it. It's super weird. The vet says he does it because she is the dominant one. . any ideas?

Our sweet neighbors got this for us. Any bets on how long it will last? I am trying not to kill it!

Feeling better if he can beg for Papa John's!

Oreo's poor paw from his hospital visit. My baby!

Did I mention our anniversary was June 2nd? I think I did back here. Sorry for the lack of photos. We honestly didn't do much.

I've always wanted a huge map like this lady has (scroll down). I wanted something huge over our dining room table that we could look at each night over dinner.

This fancy map came with little magnets so eventually we can show our little gal where all of her extended family lives. Both of her grandpas travel a lot so I think it will be fun to show her where grandpa is this week.

Who knows. Probably will be a crap shoot but it sounded like a fun idea.

My husband is super romantic.

My husband sent me this when I was out getting paint one day

Not sure when it started but Cocoa has been extremely clingy to my husband lately! I sort of hate it..but I do love it a little! And my husband loves it, too.

She'll sit up there while he does his man stuff and they just hang out. It is adorable.

We knew Oreo was feeling 100% when he was running around with this guy!

Have I updated y'all on BG's bookcase? Well here's a small sneak peek if not! (PS I will totally update on my 21 week bumpdate).

I hate stenciling. Will never do it again and I do not recommend it. Period. Long story short, BG's bookcase is not stenciled. It still looks beautiful, though!

How sad is this? The other day I was eating lunch sitting on the floor because the dogs were on the couch. My husband wanted to come read in there and was pleased as punch to see there was no room for him.

Ahem. Hopefully a bigger couch is in our future. :)

MIL Visit & Anatomy Scan Ramblings

This post is long overdue... and I feel bad! Remember back here when we had our Anatomy Scan/MIL visit? Whoops.

So my MIL got here the afternoon/night before our Anatomy Scan and somehow within 20 minutes of her being here, I managed to drag her to the mall.

Back here I mentioned what clothes I ended up getting..sorry for the lack of photos! I swear I'm working on taking more pictures.

Regardless, I was really happy with Motherhood Maternity's selection and their sales. I definitely recommend them! Clearly I'm not one of those ladies who can wear my regular clothes through an entire pregnancy (well, I could if I wore yoga pants or dresses every day), so it was nice to have clothes that fit me. I feel so good in my new clothes!

Like I have mentioned before, the tops just accentuate the bump and not make me look like a walrus. Totally recommend maternity shirts!

So we got back from the mall and had dinner or something and we got our Anniversary present!

Side note: We totally knew we were getting it and I couldn't get my hands on it fast enough. I know that sounds very greedy but you don't understand unless you are a "scrapper".

So for at least an hour I got to flip through this bad boy:

My second favorite page. Talent!

I am obsessed! Literally, obsessed. To the point where several of my neighbors have come over and I show them. I'm one of "those" people!

This is just a sneak peek. I am going to do a whole post on it but it really is amazing. I cannot remember how long she said it took her but you can tell it was made with lots of love. And blood, sweat, and tears.

I'm sure this is going to be asked-- The scrapbook covers our engagement, through the wedding planning process, and then our wedding.

Right now it's sitting on our coffee table open to my favorite page. I look at it almost daily while I eat breakfast. Unless you have planned a wedding, you really don't know how much you miss it when it's over! Having this bad boy around helps me relive our wedding. It is truly amazing. She is the bomb diggity.

Okay so the next morning was the big day-- our anatomy scan.

Our sweet little gal!

Obviously you guys know the outcome..Baby B is a she! As always it was so much fun to see Baby B. I had inhaled a bottle of OJ before my appointment (someone told me that will get baby to open his/her legs. Who knows.) so she was moving and shaking.

I still get nervous before these dumb appointments. I worry and worry myself sick. I always feel better when I see my little gal and the appointment it over.

This is a bit off topic but one of my friends keeps reminding me of Matthew 6:25. Plus, worry is the absence of faith! Definitely Google Matthew 6:25. If you're like me, print it off and stick it on your fridge.

After the ultrasound I had a regular check up-- weight, blood pressure, whatever. Of course (as always) I'm expected to pee in a cup at these check ups. Because of my OJ fiasco, I had to go bad

All 3 of us are sitting in the waiting room and I wander to the bathroom. The nurses see me (you know, giant pregnant lady waddling to the bathroom) and remind me to pee in the cup and leave it in there.

Wouldn't you know I just didn't do it? Basically just didn't listen. I had to laugh. Here I am a grown woman having a child and I can't even follow simple instructions.

Long story short I had to send my husband to the cafeteria for water. He came back with the most gigantic thing of water I've ever seen..and a bag of chips.

So after being at the doctor for a ridiculous amount of time (thanks to my intelligence), we headed to our usual after doctor outings-- lunch at Chipotle, Dean & Deluca, etc.

We got home and again I managed to drag my MIL to Babies R Us. She really goes with the flow. :)

When we got back we decided to make Special K Bars. Which are fabulous, by the way. And super duper easy.

I won't share the recipe because it's not mine to share. Sorry! But I'm sure it's all over Pinterest or somewhere online.

My MIL makes them all the time and I think it is a midwestern thing. Or just a popular recipe in their family. Who knows. Has anyone ever heard of them before? Before dating my husband I had never heard of them.

Did I mention they are tasty?

My husband and his mom did about 99% of the work. I suck.

It was lots of fun. They worst part was waiting for them to firm up in the fridge. I'm so glad we have the recipe now-- I'll be making them quite often!

The next day we sent my MIL off and after lots of hugs, a few more Special K Bars, and maybe a movie marathon, we went to Chick Fil A.

What are the chances my MIL landed, texted us, and we were eating dinner at the same place? Oh, we had the same meal.

My text on the top right, hers on the bottom left.

Seriously! How does that happen?! Great minds think alike, I say. :)

Okay all for now. They come back in less than a month and I promise, promise, promise I'll do better about pictures.

Enjoy your Sunday! xO

Five Question Friday-- June 7th

Woo hoo it's Friday! I have honestly been on the phone since 7:30 this morning.

What are everyone's weekend plans? My husband got a new work schedule so he works tomorrow but is off Sunday. Tomorrow I would like to do some work around the house, finish BG's bookcase, and I'm having chinese food with a friend. Yum!

Sunday we may go and register at Babies R Us. At first it seemed fun but BRU is about 20 minutes away and we know we'll be there for an hour or so and it just seems like a hassle. Maybe we can turn it into a fun day date. Who knows.

Enjoy your weekend, everybody! xO

1. Do you wake up before the alarm or get up at the last possible second?

I don't really use an alarm. Some furry animal usually stirs around 6:30-6:45 and I will finally get out of bed at 7.

2. Your bookcase for Baby B is really pink. I thought you said you didn't want to do all pink? (Back here)

LOL! The picture does make it look brighter than it really is. Because we rent we cannot paint the walls, so this piece will just be quite a statement piece. I sound like I know what the heck I'm talking about (I don't).

Obviously the shelves will have stuff on them, so it won't have the "wow" factor you're seeing when it's plain.

3. What ended up being wrong with your dog? Was the other one sick?

We have no idea. They thought it was a bacterial infection, but who knows. Cocoa never got sick (Thank God!) so they assumed Oreo may have eaten a piece of grass that was sprayed with chemicals, or peed/pooped on by a sick dog.

We are just thankful to God (And the vet) that our boy is feeling much better!

4. What is your favorite morning drink?

Well, it used to be coffee. Now it's ice water. :) I will have my one and only Diet Coke around 10-10:30.

5. Do you two have Father's Day plans?

Well, since we're not "officially" parents we don't really do anything.

I will get my husband a card and I got him a gift for the baby he's been wanting. Can't wait to post about it!

Since we obviously don't live in the same area as our dads/grandpas/etc, we will just call or Skype with them. Luckily we get to see both sets of parents in less than a month! Woo hoo!

Enjoy your weekend! Thank you, as always, for the sweet emails. We are so excited and blessed!

Bumpdate-- 20 Weeks

So I'll be 21 weeks Saturday but somehow I'm just now getting around to writing this, sorry. I cannot believe this pregnancy is already half way over! Where has the time gone? I just know the summer will fly by and before we know it baby girl will be in 1st grade. Or high school.

How far along? 20W5D

Maternity Clothes? Wearing the stuff I got when my MIL was here when we go out, and leggings/yoga pants around the house. Loving my husband's shirts-- mine are really constricting!

When I work out I've been wearing these tops (totally recommend them) and I really don't look pregnant. I honestly just look fat. Blah!

Stretch Marks? Nope. Still having inspections and jumped out of my skin when I saw a giant blue vein on my belly. Guess it's pretty common.

Sleep: Sleeping hard. We've been doing a short 1 mile walk before bed and I think that just puts me right out. I wake up every morning and I don't know what day it is, where I am, etc. LOL! And majorly sore hips.

Best moment this week: Feeling kicks every afternoon from my little gal! She's a silly gal and won't do anything for her dad yet, we'll see. She's still definitely breech-- I feel them very low.

Speaking of breech my ball came in! It's basically just a workout ball that I'm supposed to sit on/roll around/bounce on to keep baby B in the right position. That being said, the only thing I've managed to do is knock over a lamp with it.

My new favorite hobby? Bouncing during work calls and watching people attempt to parallel park.

Remember the bookcases from back here? We decided to just paint one. I was worried Baby B's nursery would be too small for both. (Any suggestions on what we should do with the other one? Stain it for our new living room?)

This week I primed, my husband did all white, and I finished up with the pink! It is so super adorable. I attempted to stencil the back earlier today and ended up in tears. Not so pretty.

Luckily we think it looks pretty darn cute without the stencil. My husband is going to put the shelves back in and we'll see what we think.

Can't wait to share the finished product with you guys!

Miss anything? Do we have to keep asking this same question every week? Unlimited Diet Coke, bathing suit shopping, not being starving 24/7, and coffee.

Movement: Baby B is most active after I eat something, usually around dinner time. I have to be sitting down but I can definitely notice kicks, not "movement" inside.

Anything making you queasy or sick? Garlic, butter, and our oven.

Have you started to show yet? Umm, yes?

Can not believe I just put this photo on the internet. PS: That bug bite has been there forever. Should I be concerned?

Gender: My precious baby girl!

Labor signs: No

Belly button in or out: Still in!

Wedding rings on or off: On

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy 24/7! But I do get moody when it's hot in our apartment. I didn't realize how hot you are when you're pregnant. Still sleeping with ice packs and the other night my husband put my clothes in the freezer while I was in the shower. I'm not kidding.

Looking forward to: Getting to see BG (baby girl) July 3rd, moving, and setting up BG's nursery!

Side note about this picture: My husband is so glad we are having a girl because he knows I would have put bows in a baby boy. Seriously, isn't O adorable?

How Two Trips to the Emergency Vet Strengthened our Marriage

My husband and I are not very lovey dovey. Actually, we aren't lovey dovey at all. And that's okay because that's us and that works for us.

Let's see. Wild boy Oreo had been throwing up all day Friday before Labor Day. My husband was at work so I just followed Oreo around with a towel and spray bottle. It was a really productive day. Hubby came home and I immediately "gave" the dog to him so he could take care of him and I could get some work done.

No "Hello! Welcome home from work. I missed you. We are having ____ for dinner!". No kiss either.

He sat on the couch with Oreo and I got work done.

Saturday morning came, and Oreo was still very ill. I won't go into detail, but it was bad. I played the "pregnant" card and convinced my husband to take him to the vet without me. He left with Oreo-- no kiss, no "I love you!", just "I'll call you" and shut the door.

He called 86 thousand times from the vet while I cleaned up dog mess. It was an awesome morning.

Again, I noticed we were hanging up on each other, "Yeah, I know, OK", etc.

Saturday night my baby boy was still not better. No drinking water, nothing. He won't even look up at me. His eyes are telling me something's wrong.

My husband was nagging me to have Oreo drink water. How on earth do I force a dog to drink water?

I was nagging my husband to just help me clean up and pray for our baby boy.

We were both very snappy to each other.

Off to the emergency vet we went. Hubby drove and I cuddled Oreo in the back seat. We said maybe 3 words to each other.

The room was so cozy. No exam table, just comfy couches and a big rug.

Sitting in the room (above), we both sat on our phones (Me? Googling what the hell could be wrong with my dog. Him? Probably wasting data on our data plan on Facebook. I was so annoyed he wasn't "caring".

Five or six hundred dollars later, we think Oreo is back to his healthy self. Wrong.

10AM Sunday morning? Back to the emergency vet. Ugh. They recognize us.

Cocoa hung out with Fenway while we were gone.

Major thanks to our neighbors for taking care of Cocoa!

Sitting in the (cozy) room, they decide it's best for them to keep my baby for fluids and monitoring. I hand over my precious little doggie and sign a piece of paper saying we do not want a DNR.

I look up and my husband looks ill. His face is completely white and he said, "I just want my crazy dog back".

For legal reasons, we couldn't leave until they hooked Oreo up to an IV. For 10 minutes we were blessed with listening to Oreo cry.

My husband is not good in emergencies. He will be the first to admit it. I actually stress about what he'll do when I go into labor.

On our way out, after agreeing to pay another $1500, I grabbed my husband's hand and asked him if he was okay. We reminded each other that we are bigger than this. If, God forbid, something were to happy to our puppy, we would be okay.

We have our marriage (each other), we have a child on the way, and of course we have a little brown poodle at home waiting for us.

We realized that we have to put our marriage first. Hello-- our dogs won't be around forever. Our kid(s) are eventually going to grow up and have families of their own.

We are only going to have each other in 50 years.

After we came to that realization, we were so much better. I feel like Oreo got better because we were handling the situation better.

Moral of the story? Don't forget about your spouse. They will love you through it all!

PS: Here are some photos of the whole weekend fiasco..Enjoy!

We got the Bissel Spot Bot and totally love it. It worked miracles!

No idea why they put a pink bandaid on him..

My poor baby.
