Five Question Friday-- May 31st

Happy Friday, y'all! TGIF, seriously. Last weekend was absolute hell. (Sorry, but it was). Not sure if I'll post about it but our little boy Oreo was in the emergency vet twice, and ended up being hospitalized for the day. Luckily he's on the road to recovery, but it was very scary.

This weekend I would just like to relax. We were never able to "celebrate" Memorial Day or BBQ with our friends, so I still have my burger and baked beans craving.

Our fist anniversary is Sunday, but I don't think my husband has anything planned. Probably just dinner, which will be nice. We never go out to dinner (unless Chick Fil A counts).

Have a fabulous weekend, people! xO

1. What is the worst thing about staying in a hotel?

Hmmm. I really love hotels. Well, not crappy ones. If it's a nice place I don't worry about germs (or I try to not think about it). The only annoying thing I can think of is never knowing if I can drink water from the sink, not having access to water, etc. It's always such a pain! We end up running through the hallways to find a vending machine.

2. Would you prefer to live without A/C or heat?

Heat, duh!

3. Is your baby girl's room going to be decked out in pink?

Not really. I love pink, but it doesn't need to be crazy. As I've mentioned several times I'm obsessed with this blankie, so I'll use that to gather other items.

I can pull lots of colors from it-- blues, black, green, yellow. BUT, I don't want it to be gender neutral in the slightest. She will definitely be all girl. :)

4. Do you mind sharing where you got your maternity clothes and what you ended up getting?

Sure. I'll be better about taking photos when I am wearing the clothes, but we found everything at Motherhood Maternity and Target. Target was awesome for just simple T-shirts to wear with jean shorts/capris/whatever.

Motherhood was having some kind of sale but I can't remember what it was. I got these capris and I'm in love with them. I'll probably go back and get them in one or two more colors. :) I think these are the jean shorts I picked out. I'm not a fan of showing off my legs, but they were comfortable. And like I said, there was a sale! Lastly I got these shorts in the grey. They are super comfy as well.

The shirts from Motherhood are just as nice as the Target ones. After washing two of them I noticed they will definitely have to be ironed. Not sure why but they just scrunched up badly! One of the shirts I got ended up being a little bit see thru, but I can wear a tank top under it.

Okay hopefully that helps!

5. How does your husband feel about being a dad to a girl? Didn't he want a boy?

LOL the person who asked this is obviously a close friend of mine, because I never shared that he wanted a boy on here. Did I?

Yes, he wanted a boy because he wanted our first child to be a boy. I don't know, something that the oldest child needs to protect the littles.

After having a week or two to really let it sink it, he is totally in love with our baby girl. I think all along he wanted a girl! He is so excited to have a little girl to spoil and he is always reminding me how much little girls love their daddies, not their mamas. LOL! He is such a brat.

Bumpdate-- 19 Weeks

Totally slacking at my Bumpdates but at least I'm still on track, right? Can't believe on Saturday I'll be halfway done..holy moly! Guess I should write that birth plan that the doctor has been telling me about!

How far along? 19W5D

Maternity clothes? Yes! Well, not all the time. When my MIL was here (more on that later), she helped me find 3 pairs of bottoms and at least 7-9 tops. I am definitely set for the summer! Around the house I still sport leggings and t-shirts, but when we go out I wear my new clothes. :)

If you're pregnant and in denial about shopping, just go. Drag someone with you. You will feel so much better having clothes that fit you and accentuate the bump rather than clothes that cover it up (which, makes even the tiniest woman look heavy).

Stretch Marks? Nope. Still applying the most awful smelling stretch mark cream. Guess I shouldn't complain, though.

My husband came home from work today, kissed my belly and said, "Ew, cocoa butter".

Sleep: Sleeping hard. When my husband gets up in the morning I literally feel like a truck hit me. I noticed today that my body is pretty sore when I get up.

Best moment this week: I think (pretty positive) I felt 3 or 4 little kicks yesterday! They were pretty low and soft. Very cute. And our 1 year anniversary is on Sunday. My husband doesn't know it yet but he'll be treating me to a manicure. And maybe a haircut that I have been putting off since March.

Totally did some shopping this week, too! I told my husband I just needed one pink thing to get me through. I picked up this darling headband and I'm totally in love:

Love, love, love everything about little girls. Especially head bands with giant flowers.

Miss anything? Same as always. Unlimited Diet Coke and bathing suit shopping.

Movement: Definitely the kicks yesterday and a few little flutters here and there.

Food cravings: Not much. Maybe some good Cheetos and a nice brownie. And a yogurt parfait.

Want to know something really sad? I got the "special" yogurt parfait when my in laws came and visited (it was at their hotel's breakfast buffet). They are coming again in July and I'm secretly hoping they will stay there again....just so one of them can smuggle me a yogurt parfait.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really. Some restaurant on my walk today about killed me. And the oven still.

Have you started to show yet? I guess. I still think I could pass as fat, though.

Gender: Baby GIRL!!!!

Labor signs: No

Belly button in or out: Same as it has been. Definitely in, but making its way out I believe.

Wedding rings on or off: On

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy! So beyond happy/excited/blessed.

Looking forward to: Baby girl's blanket coming in so I can pick out goodies for her nursery. (More on the blanket back here).

Cocoa wearing baby girl's headband. Obsessed!

Baby B is a ...

On Wednesday May 22nd we found out that Baby B is a girl!

We are so excited words cannot describe. Being a mama to a baby girl will be so much fun! I see lots of headbands, dresses, and tutus in my future. And white furniture. And headbands. Lots of headbands.

As I've mentioned multiple times, I truly thought Baby B was a HE! Imagine my surprise (and excitement) when the tech said "It's a girl". I was so excited my eyebrows were shaking. No idea how that happens.

My husband is looking forward to having a little girl that he can spoil. He is always reminding me: "You know, most little girls cling to their Daddy a lot more than their Mama". Okay, I get it. She is going to be obsessed with him.

Baby Girl is happy and healthy in the tummy and was a little wiggle worm. Maybe it was the 16 ounces of Orange Juice I chugged (full of sugar, mind you) 33 seconds before my appointment? Possibly. :)

Because she was such a little wiggle worm we didn't get a good shot of her spine. So I get to get another look at her at 24 weeks! I think that will be it as far as ultrasounds until we meet her for realz in October! Holy macaroni!

She is such a beauty. We are totally obsessed with her and cannot wait to meet her! My husband and I are wondering if she'll have any hair, my hair (blonde), or his (a little darker). Soon enough we will find out.

Oh, I am totally obsessed with this fabric. Obsessed. As in, I am ordering this blanket today once I get my crap together.

I may peek around and see if this fabric can be made into a changing pad cover, crib skirt, wall paper, clothes, car interior, etc. Kidding, a little

Once I have one big piece (this), I feel like I can bring it around with me for other key pieces.

Baby girls are the best! xO

Bumpdate-- 18 Weeks

Happy Tuesday, folks! I should be doing anything but sitting here on the computer not working, but here I am.

Can't believe we are almost halfway to meeting Baby B!

My MIL is coming today and our appointment is tomorrow morning. We are excited but I'm always nervous before these silly appointments. I'll do my best to update when I can!

How far along? 18W3D

Maternity clothes? Still just wearing sweats/yoga pants around the house and dresses/my capris with bella band out.

Literally wear this everyday.

Stretch marks? Nope. Having nightly inspections. Not kidding

Sleep: Hard to fall asleep but sleeping hard with very scary dreams. Awfully vivid dreams. Last night I woke up to my husband setting his alarm on and off 64 times (he's worried he'll sleep in). If I wasn't exhausted beyond belief I would have slapped him with a pillow.

Best moment this week: My MIL comes today and tomorrow is our big day!

Someone gifted me with a monthly subscription to Mommies First. My first box came yesterday:

It is so cool! I had to answer some questions about myself and baby and they sent me a box full of goodies. I totally recommend them!

Miss Anything? Same....a delicious sub, my bikini body, unlimited Diet Cokes, coffee. . .

Movement: I think so! A little bit each day. Especially after I eat.

Food cravings: Butterscotch chips, frosted animal cookies, and a yogurt parfait with granola.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Haven't looked at chicken in a long time..gag. Getting car sick but luckily I don't have to ride in a car very much. The oven still gets me every time!

Have you started to show yet: A little bump, I think?

Yes that is the same shirt..no idea how/why it got darker over time.. ha ha.

Gender: Eeeek tomorrow 10:30 cannot come soon enough! I really have no idea.

Labor Signs: No

Belly Button in or out? Definitely in, but coming out.

Wedding rings on or off? On! One was looser, not sure what that's about.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy and excited and can't wait to shop!

Looking forward to: My MIL getting here this afternoon and tomorrow!

So my husband and I got pedicures over the weekend and I always get a "wild" color. Love this electric blue!

When we got home I was on the phone with my grandmother and stubbed my toe on a dumbbell. So now my whole toe is purple/pink. Delicious.

Okay, people! Will update as soon as I can. Thank you for all the sweet emails/comments! xO

Life According To My Phone-- May 19th

Warning: Get ready for a iPhone photo dump. I need to do this more often!

Everyday about a half hour/hour before my husband gets home, Cocoa goes and sits by the door. She never has to go out, she just waits for her papa. Precious. In the past few months she has definitely been more clingy to him. He loves it!

Ahem. Late night run to Coldstone for cake batter ice cream & sprinkles.

I cannot be the only girl who doesn't like to eat alone? My husband said he'd go out and get ice cream but I was worried he wasn't going to get anything for himself. He sent this picture to show me that he had gotten something for himself. Good. :)

...Aaand now I'm realizing how much food I eat.

My dad picked this bread out for us when he was here. So tasty!

Adventures on my walks.

Hi. Take me out.

On this particular morning (above) Oreo had snuggled way up next to my belly. We were really trying to keep the dogs away from my belly because a few nights prior to this, Oreo leapt right up on my belly. It scared the daylights out of me.

Regardless, he was completely awake and snuggled there. Around 5, he was licking my belly for about twenty minutes! I have no idea if he knows what's going on, but it was precious.

More adventures on my walks.

Two weeks ago it was police week here. There was nothing very exciting going on where we live besides this motorcade honoring 5 fallen officers. My husband said there was a 5k and a festival down where he works..and I think he got some free food that day. He was thrilled to say the least.

For reals.

Now that we have our moving plans (more on that back here) officially in the books, I've been on a cleaning/purging kick.

My husband was off last Wednesday so he went through all his work papers and shredded for an hour or so. The office closest is sparkling now. :-)

Love my papi..

Another late night run for snacks!

I mentioned we went to the vet for the dogs' yearly appointment and my goodness was it a nightmare! They had to have blood taken for their heart worm test (which is normal to do). When they handed Oreo back to me I got blood all up my hand/wrist. Really? He rocked this adorable bandage all night.

As if the blood was not enough excitement for one day, I bought them some new treats (pictured above) for something like $16.99.

Cocoa refused to eat hers (surprise, surprise), but Oreo ate his pretty quickly. He then proceeded to yak 4 times. We weren't sure if he was sick from the treats or the shots, so that was dreadful.

So thankful both my babies are happy and healthy and running around today!

Been on a quesadilla kick lately. So amazing.

He did ask for lots of meat on his sandwich..

My dad is super supportive!

Okay, people. Enjoy your Sunday! xO

We're Moving!

You guys have asked a million times and I apologize for not keeping you in the loop better! Last weekend I mentioned we finally have some moving plans and I can officially say-- we are moving July 1st!

Don't get too excited, though, we're only moving two apartments over. :-) Yup, just down the hall..LOL!

There were so many options that it makes my brain fuzzy thinking about it-- cancel our lease and rent a big house and be settled before Baby B arrives, move in the middle of September and hope we get ready for Baby B in time, extend our lease and stay, blah blah blah.

I know this is coming: No, buying was not an option! We have only lived in this area for a year and we have no idea where in God's name we would live. Not to mention how pricey it is to live in DC.

Right now we are in an 1150 square foot apartment, and this one will be 1388. We are pretty excited about that fact!

We knew we wanted an additional bedroom for Baby B and I need my office for work. No questions asked.

And hello? We now have 2 full bathrooms. You don't know what it's like having people here who all have to shower, pee, blow dry their hair, etc. Right now our office/guest room doesn't even have a mirror!

While it will be extremely pricey, we are blessed to have found the perfect place that is so close. I get to keep my dog walking business, my husband has a 10 minute commute to work, and we're in a safe area that has lots of shopping near by. (Ahem, I can literally picture me and Baby B taking our first trip to Target).

This picture confuses me to no end.

Secretly I think my husband is more excited about this move than I am. I was itching to go to another place, but it was just too far for him to commute to work. He keeps saying how happy he is to be staying.

Some things I'm excited about? Let's see:

:: Having a (very small) entryway. Right now we have this teeny tiny basket for shoes and a random thing that holds the dog leashes. I would love something that can hold the leashes, key, shoes, purses, etc. and look nice. I don't think a bench is necessary, but something in a dark wood with shelves maybe?

:: Bigger kitchen. I can do dishes and another person can actually open the oven at the same time. Enough said.

:: Larger living area. Right now when people come over I always end up sitting on the floor. My husband is dying for a sectional couch and I want a cozy chair that looks nice (not college dorm-y). Maybe a chase lounge? We'll see.

:: Ceiling fans! Seriously, this apartment has 3. I still remember our first night here we were so hot in the middle of June with no fans. We went out the next day and bought 2. Best. Purchase. Ever.

:: Giant floor to ceiling window in the living room. We won't have a porch anymore, and instead we'll have a giant window in the living room. I think the dogs will just sit by the window and look out all day.

That's all I can think of right now. Most importantly, we're just so excited to be moving to the place we'll bring our baby back to

Enjoy your Saturday, people! xO

Letters to Baby B & Journaling

Long before I got pregnant I decided to start keeping a journal. Actually it was right around the time my husband left for his training. A friend suggested keeping a journal so my husband could see all the fun adventures I did while he was gone.

I'm so thankful for the friend who suggested this! I went through a regular spiral notebook from the time he left until early March. In March I got this cute little book (above).

Writing is something that I have to force myself to do. Reading? Easy. Writing? I will find every excuse not to write in my journal.

I don't write pages and pages, some days it's definitely more than others. It's usually while I'm eating lunch or breakfast or during breaks in my workouts. I have convinced myself many times that I don't have time to write, but I'm always glad I spent the 5 minutes writing down our life.

My husband and I love looking back in my purple journal (the first one) and seeing the crazy things I did while he was gone. The day I drove all the way to Baltimore to go to Hobby Lobby and didn't buy one thing. Whoops. Or the day I baked a cake for myself.

The purple journal is sitting in a "memory" bin in our office closet. It sits among chips from Vegas hotels, my positive pregnancy test, and other random things we cannot let ourselves throw away.

2 days after I found out I was pregnant, I went to Barnes & Noble and snagged this hard cover book. I knew I wanted my baby to know every feeling/thought going on in my brain.

Come on-- Wouldn't you love to have a journal from your mom on her pregnancy and what she was thinking? Did she secretly want a baby boy? Want to name you Bartholomew? (No offense to anyone named Bartholomew).

I cannot tell you what I would give to talk to my mom about everything going on. I want to know if she had stretch marks (According to my dad, no, but what does he really know?), if she had morning sickness, if I was surprise, and what other names they were considering naming me.

Now obviously some of you can just call your mom and find out. Brats.

Regardless, I brought this journal home and first wrote about who I am. My husband did the same thing. He actually included his height..ya know, in case our child is really wondering. :-)

Every few weeks (or after appointments) we write a little letter to our baby and one day we'll give this book to him/her.

That's our plan, anyway, to write and write until we fill the journal. I threw in the extra ultrasound pictures and a card I gave my husband. I can't wait to write in the journal when our baby is actually here!

When our baby is a teenager and he or she "hates" us, my husband and I can look back and smile.

Then I can use this book to smack my kid on the booty.

Five Question Friday-- May 17th

TGIF! Hope everyone is enjoying their Friday..we sure are! After work I think I am going to treat myself to a mani/pedi and maybe even a haircut. I never do things like that unless it's for my birthday or Christmas. Okay or maybe a vacation.

Yesterday the dogs' had their yearly vet appointment and shots and it was nothing short of a nightmare. We waited over an hour-- one very excited dog and one dog who crawled all over mama. And one husband who is majorly creeped out by doctors. $369, 4 puke episodes and $30 in treats later, we survived.

Nothing fun or crazy planned this weekend besides lots of dog walking, dog park, and cleaning.

1. Do you keep your car cleaned up?

Yes! I cannot stand a messy car. Seriously, men-- pick up your car. If it's messy, that's probably why you're single. #Justsayin

If we had it my way, there would be no eating in our car. But my husband enjoys eating on the go. A lot.

2. Are you really doing a natural birth? Why? Are you crazy? (This was the number 1 question I got over email!)

I hesitated even mentioning that, but I felt it was important to share what books I am reading (and enjoying!). (You can view that post here).

YES and I cannot be more excited. It was mostly my husband's idea-- he is the bomb diggity.

Why? Well because that's what our grandmother's did and I feel I want to experience birth and not be drugged. Plus I am petrified of a catheter, and that is required (at my hospital) for an epidural. I could honestly go on and on but I don't want to sound preachy. If you're dying to know, you can email me and I'll try to get back to you as soon as I can.

That being said, I have had 2 dreams that I had a C-section, and that is far from natural. Yikes!

3. When are you going to update about your moving plans?

Soon! I promise.

4. How often do you go grocery shopping?

Once or twice a week I'll go to the store and get crap. When my dad visits, he loves (more than me, seriously) going to the store and grocery shopping.

5. Where did you get the planner/calendar in this post?

It's from ErinCondren.com. Definitely recommend it!

Wordless Wednesday-- May 15th

Happy Wednesday, folks!

Be sure to check out my 17 week bumpdate! xO

Bumpdate-- 17 Weeks

Hmm. Sweet.

17 weeks! It's crazy but I still remember (very vividly) going in for a blood test and he said I was 4 weeks, 5 days pregnant. Where has the time gone?

How far along? 17W4D

Maternity clothes? Just wearing sweats/yoga pants around the house and regular clothes/Gap leggings if I go out.

Stretch marks? No. Although I swear I saw one and screamed..it was just a vein! My poor husband thought I fell/was dying/a dog was dying.

Sleep: Sleeping awesome.

Best moment this week: Feeling Baby B a little bit and realizing I'm almost halfway there!

Baby B got this for my MIL for Mother's Day. We thought it was a onesie but now I'm wondering where the bottom half of it is? Lord I have a lot to learn.

Miss Anything?: Unlimited Diet Coke, subs, bikini body, coffee. . . don't I say this every week?

Movement: Feeling a little here and there. Didn't feel much Sunday/Monday so I called the doctor Monday afternoon worrying my baby was dead. She said not to worry and she'll see me at my anatomy scan next week! She did remind me several times that it is still early for any serious movement. I also have a weird shaped something in there that makes feeling baby lots harder.

Food cravings: Cried when I saw a Reese's commercial so sent my husband to Panera for a Cinnamon Crunch Bagel (go get one, you won't be disappointed) and the grocery for Reese Cups. He came home with: 2 Cinnamon Crunch Bagels, 2 Chocolate chip cookies, 1 bag of Reese's Pieces, 1 bag of Reese's minis, and 3 King Sized Reese Cups. This all coming from the girl who hasn't eaten chocolate in years

I'm sure this is coming, but no-- I only had 1 bagel and a king sized Reese cup. We gave the rest to our neighbors. :-)

The cravings are definitely switching to sweets, though. Maybe there is a little girl in there!

My husband ordered pizza at 10PM one night. Of course I had to have half a calzone.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Chicken. Haven't had any in a good 2 or 3 months. The oven being on still makes me sick and so do cinnamon rolls.

Symptoms: Still dizzy a lot and tired.

Have you started to show yet: Just getting lots of stares.."Is she fat or pregnant?".. BOTH!

Gender: Find out a week from today...eeek!

Labor Signs: No

Belly Button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy and tired.

Looking forward to:  Anatomy scan, seeing my MIL, seeing my dad after her, and moving!

Pregnancy/Baby Reading

Maybe one day I'll dust this table. Probably not.

As most of you know, I'm a big reader. Becoming pregnant opened a gigantic window of opportunities   in the reading department. There are so many books! If you're not careful you can spend some good money on books you'll never read. Be sure to pick out books that are fitting for you and your situation.

The first book my husband snagged was The Baby Names Almanac 2013. I think he got it at Barnes & Noble so it was pricier than the $9 Amazon is showing me.

It's okay. To me it seems silly to buy a book on names when you can just Google them, but he liked being able to finger through it (while watching Netflix) and dog ear pages. It's probably a book we'll end up donating or selling back on Amazon/Swagbucks.

I'm sure this is coming-- No, we don't officially have any names. We are pretty set on a boy name but we can't agree on a girl name. Surprise, surprise. We will probably just tell our immediate family and keep the name quiet until Baby B makes his/her debut! Sorry! I'm not a fan of when people say "Oh, I knew a ____. She was fat and a bully!". Really, people?

The second book was recommended to us at Barnes & Noble, LOL. We got The Happiest Baby on the Block after a guy (chasing his toddler into the bathroom) said "Are you looking for a baby book? This one was a lifesaver for us. You'll need it".

To be honest we haven't even started reading it but I've thumbed through it and it is definitely living up to all the hype. Everyone is always talking about this book so I'm glad we got it.

Next we got The Thinking Woman's Guide to a Better Birth after a family friend recommended it. This is the book I've been reading for over a month-- it's very thorough but very informative.

This is probably something to save for a separate post but this book is for natural births (in or out of hospitals). So if you're planning your 3rd C-Section or love epidurals, this book is not for you. No judgement, just hate for you to waste money!

For us, it's perfect. It's a lot of information and to be honest, my husband has read maybe 5% of what I've read. That's okay. I usually read it with my feet in the bath tub and I yell for him to come in if something is important. Ha ha.

This book goes through every medical intervention and shares step by step instructions on how to avoid them unless 100% necessary. Again, I could do a whole post on why this book is so important but I don't want to be preachy.

The same friend recommended The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding. Again, I haven't started this one.  I felt it was more important to read about the birth first (since that comes first!), then breastfeeding, then baby care.

There are two others on my list but I haven't bought them just yet: The Doula Book and The Ultimate Breastfeeding Book of Answers

I'll definitely keep y'all posted on what I think of each book! So far I definitely recommend everything from the reviews alone.

Happy reading. xO

Five Question Friday-- May 10th

TGIF! Happy Friday, everyone! And Happy Mother's Day to all my mom readers. I hope you enjoy your weekend!

Let's see..as always my husband is working this weekend. Boo. Since we finally have our moving schedule (more on that later), I have an itch to organize and do a massive purge around the house. We'll see.

My Gap maternity leggings came in so I can officially be seen in public! Woo hoo! That means I'll probably go get my hair cut and maybe run to the mall. I need to find some cute longer shirts since I don't want my whole booty exposed in leggings. We'll see how that turns out.

1. What's the one personal hygiene thing you won't do in front of your spouse?

Umm, nothing?

2. What was the best field trip you ever took in school?

In 5th grade we flew to Williamsburg, VA and took the train home. It was so much fun! Mostly because my parents nor my friends' parents were chaperones. Score!

3. What is on top of your refrigerator?

Cutting boards and large serving plates. And probably dust. :(

4. What is your favorite or most used phone apps?

Banking ones or Pandora. I used to hate Pandora but now I use it every day on my walks.

5. What are you like when you're nervous? Do you get nervous easily?

Quiet. Yes! I'm already nervous for our anatomy scan that's over a week away. I know it's normal to be nervous but I work myself up.

Bumpdate-- 16 Weeks

Hi people! Sorry for slacking this week..it's actually my last day of being 16 weeks pregnant! Holy macaroni-- I'm 4 months pregnant.

This week we got some fun things accomplished:

:: We have finally figured out what classes we want to take at our hospital and outside the hospital. Because of my husband's wacky schedule I think I'll have to go to some alone or try to drag a friend/Dad/in-law. The hospital offered tons of classes but because of his schedule, we could only do a few. Oh well.

:: After reading lots of reviews we finally figured out what stroller/car seat we are going to get! We liked the Peg-Perego Primo Viaggio carseat and the City Mini Jogger. We knew we wanted a jogger since we're always outside walking with the dogs and this one had great reviews. My husband is so good-- when we were at the zoo he was able to spot "our" stroller!

:: My MIL is officially coming for our anatomy scan and we're so excited!

:: We went to Ikea and after spending $120 on random crap we managed to browse at the kid stuff. Anyone have any experience with their baby products? I really want a simple crib and I love how antique-y they are at Ikea!

$3 each! Had to snag these.

I have a thing for giraffes (okay, animals in general) and I am obsessed with these. Are they too girly though? I think the black frames "man" them up a bit but for $1 I couldn't resist!

How far along? 16W6D

Maternity clothes? My Gap maternity leggings came in and they are so comfy! Go get some. Who cares if you don't have a bun in the oven, just get some-- you won't be disappointed!

Stretch marks? No. My dad confirmed that my mom did not get any stretch marks so keeping my fingers crossed!

Sleep: Sleeping better than I was.

Best moment this week:
Finalizing our moving plans (will post about it soon)!

My husband sent me this picture when I was out (probably at Target buying crap or getting a donut somewhere) and said "My whole world! My job and my family". He is a sweetie. :-)

Well when I got home the house was trashed, but I'll work on him. ;)

Miss Anything? Unlimited Diet Coke, LUNCH MEAT, hot dogs, and having a bikini body.

Movement: A little, I think. Some days more than others.

Food cravings: Not really craving anything besides watermelon, fruity drinks, and a turkey sub. Specifically a 6 inch white, turkey, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, salt and pepper, all toasted with Sun Chips (the blue kind) and a huge Diet Coke. Ahem. That might be the meal I request after Baby B arrives! :)

I went through a Chipotle thing but it has passed. We were going once a week!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nachos! Went out to dinner and couldn't even look at them. Still popcorn and cinnamon rolls. Made some for my husband and wasn't even tempted to have one. The oven being on still makes me sick so I've been doing a lot of stove top cooking and grilling.

Gender: I still think boy, but I did have a dream we had a baby girl via C-section! Ahhh! Before I used to say I would be shocked if they say girl, but now I think a girl is a possibility! My husband wants a boy but I'll be thrilled either way.

Labor Signs: No.

Symptoms: Major dizziness if I sit too long on the computer/TV and when getting up, and headaches 24/7.

Belly Button in or out? In, but I think it's making it's way out!

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy and excited!

Looking forward to: Anatomy scan on May 22nd, moving, and getting Baby B little goodies.

Five Question Friday-- May 3rd

Holy moly how is it already May?! Yesterday marked being married to my love for 11 months-- holy macaroni! And of course that made me think what in the world are we going to do for our anniversary?

So thankful the weekend is here-- I'd like to do a good clean because my dad will be coming sometime next week. I'm dog sitting a few dogs and we'll be looking at some more places to live (EEK, will post on this when I have an update).

My husband as usual is working all weekend but we have finally gotten a good schedule together. It's starting to feel more "normal" and my boss even gives me work on the weekends so sometimes I don't have to work on his days off! It's a very interesting change.

Have a great weekend everyone! xO

PS-- If you have any anniversary gift ideas that stick with the "theme" of paper be sure to pass them along!

1. What is the one thing you hate most about being an LEO wife?

Wow, hopefully I never gave off the idea that I hate any part of my husband's job!

I don't hate his job at all-- it's not my job to hate. Like I mentioned above, the hours are weird but I definitely don't hate that.

Oh I know what I hate! When people find out what he does they always have to say "Well, because of the nature of his job, you need good life insurance/a job/etc". Really? These days you can get shot at doing just about anything. I think I'd feel safer carrying a weapon than not.

Okay, rant over. :)

2. What's your favorite way to recharge?

Um, sleep? Read?

3. Who drives when you and your spouse go somewhere?

Me. I get major carsick in the passenger seat. :(

4. What are 3 things on your bucket list?

Hmmm. Run a marathon, have a big family with the best guy ever, and grow closer to God every day.

5. Have you ever been in a car accident?

Not really. I rear ended someone in high school in my dad's car and the guy drove off (really?). It really wasn't anything major, just expensive for my dad. Whoops.

Oh and kind of funny? We never told my mom. Ha. She died and never knew. She is probably laughing at me right now calling me a goofball.

Strawberry Summer Salad

Like this recipe? Be sure to repin it on Pinterest!

Remember a few weeks ago when I posted about this yummy salad dressing? Seriously-- it's delicious. Go buy some, now.

I'll wait.

My MIL has made this salad at least a thousand times and I had been craving it for almost a month before I texted her asking where to buy it. It it so amazing and always makes me think of being at my in laws house-- easy going, fun, and relaxed!

She sent me the picture (above) and I literally went out and bought that stuff thirty seconds later. Seriously, it makes the salad.

There really isn't a recipe for this salad, because you just throw stuff together in a bowl.

What you'll need:

:: Strawberries
:: Feta cheese
:: Spinach
:: Vinaigrette dressing (ahem, pictured above)
:: Almonds/pecans/walnuts/something crunchy

Yum! Let me know what you think. I was going to include a picture of me and my MIL but I seem to not have one. Can you guess what we'll be accomplishing the next time she comes? :)

Enjoy! xO
