Nursery Details

Happy Monday! My in laws came and went-- we had a great time! Sadly, I took exactly 0 pictures..not a 1.

They helped tremendously with the nursery and it's about 99.2% done. :) Here are some of my favorite details.. I absolutely love everything!

My grandmother gave me my mother's newborn dress (above). No idea why she wore blue as an infant, but hey-- it's the thought.

I'm totally obsessed with our mom photos (top) and the time out chair from my Aunt & Uncle in NY.

Hopefully we won't have to use it that often!

I've had those frames for months. We got the prints & frames from Ikea long before we knew whether Baby B was a he or a she. They are perfect for the top of her "cube-icle".

Still have to disinfect/set up the humidifier..yikes! Adding that to the to-do list as we speak.

I ended up throwing out the poms I made previously (remember my FIL thought they were bathroom decor? Ha ha). My SIL made these and they are perfect. We ended up using floral wire, hooks, and tacks to "shove" the poms up in the corner.

We found a set of 3 shelves at Target-- teeny tiny, small, and medium. My FIL "stacked" them up in the corner and they look awesome! For now they each have a picture frame on them..I'm sure it will change 500 times, though.

All the essentials in her changing table.

Her giraffe collection is slowly growing..notice a new one?

Little Miss' headband collection is also growing..very rapidly! I only ordered 2 from Jameson Monroe but 3 came in the mail (pictures to come)! Not to mention my MIL brought some more homemade headbands when she came over the weekend. They are all so cute!

This bookcase and the changing table need the most work. I'll get to it, I promise! Can't wait to post more pictures when it's 100% complete!

Hope everyone had a great Monday! xO

Nursery Update (Almost Complete!)

As promised, a nursery update!

It is finally coming along (look back here to see how much progress we've made)! I think by the time my inlaws leave (they are visiting this weekend), it will be 99.9% done. The .01% will be putting a baby in there. :-)

So after our shower, one of my aunts gave us this tin (?) container. It was used to keep water bottles in it and I love it! We were kind of unsure what to do with it-- it doesn't fit in our bathroom counters (for bath towels/soaps/etc) and it looked silly on top of our bookcase (2 below), but I finally found the perfect spot!

We are keeping it on the floor outside her room! I've been putting the clean laundry in it, or anything that needs to go in her room. I think it will be perfect if she's sleeping in there and she has toys that can be put away, etc.

Totally obsessed with her giraffe collection

The bookcase needs some work, but it's not too bad. Okay, so I crammed a few things in there..sue me. Oh! And I'm definitely going to have my SIL write something cute on the chalkboard basket-- she has the best handwriting!

Ahem. Okay, so I did a lot of cramming. We aren't going to throw the sound machine packaging away because we may have to return it. Hopefully it's an easy fix..we'll see.

I'm so thankful for that corner in the left. Our stroller is tucked back there, along with boxes of diapers and wipes.

We are going to put the carseat in the car next week..eeeek!

Curtains! No idea what we're going to yet..yikes! Recommend a place to get cute and reasonably priced curtains?

LOL my friend thought that wreath was a cushion you sit on after you give birth.

Don't tell anyone but I just shoved clothes in those bins. :( I'm so embarrassed. BUT, totally in love with the shelves that have yet to be put up.

My favorite part of her nursery! So excited to hang up our mom pictures (more on that later), and one of my mom's newborn dresses. It's hard to see, but we got the cutest little time out stool at our shower!

And maybe one of these days I'll get around to moving the lamp back to the living room and buy the lamp I've been wanting

Can't wait to update more as we complete the last minute touches! Thank you for all your sweet emails and comments! xO

Nursery Progress and Ramblings

As promised, a post about the nursery! We have been super busy between work, family visiting, and life in general. Luckily the nursery is coming along and I'm feeling like we're doing okay

I'll post more about it later, but we were super blessed with a free crib for review! We picked out the Fisher-Price Kingsport Convertible Crib and we're in love. Super thankful of my friend Melissa, she is amazing for thinking of us!

That bedding, swoon! I will cry my eyes out the day we put it into the attic. I know I went a little crazy with the birds, no need to remind me.

We registered for another 3 or 4 sets of white crib sheets and a waterproof mattress cover-- it's always good to have tons of them for diaper explosions. ;)

While I was sick I was busy making these bad boys. I don't like the idea of a crib mobile, so I thought this was a way cuter option. My inspiration came from here. I plan on doing the same thing-- shoving them up in the wall/ceiling and praying they stay there, LOL.

Good thing I bought 18 packs of tissue paper, I have lots more to make!

Nothing too crazy going on along this wall right now. Ordered these letters to go on a shelf above the changing table and am even going to order this garland to decorate the shelf/letters. Cute, right?

Thinking this hamper on one side of the changing table and this chalkboard basket for blankets and such on the other side. Ahem. We already own two of those chalkboard baskets..totally obsessed with them!

When my FIL was here last week he helped me do some rearranging. We both agreed that having the furniture like this is the best way to go.

I'm picturing some tissues on the nightstand, maybe some books, and whatever else. I thought it would be a good idea to have a nightstand by the glider-- perfect place to keep some water or my phone.

Maybe some shelves above the glider? BG has received lots of stuffed animals (plus I'm dying to order this ridiculous-ly overpriced stuffed animal) and keeping them on a shelf seems cute!

We ended up getting this cubeicle for all her little clothes, sleepers, and the like. As much as I dislike them, we really had no room for a real dresser. Oh well!

We have yet to get curtains but that's going to have to happen soon.

The bookcase is still holding random items we've yet to find a home for-- head bands (I'm thinking a glass jar like this), socks, books, and the ring sling. Like I've mentioned, I'll probably use the bookcase for books (duh!) and some baskets to hold whatever else.

My husband is going to hang the wreath above the bookcase, I am not a fan of it leaning against the wall like that.

Our fluffy rug hasn't arrived yet, but I'm so excited to take BG's picture on it!

Okay, that is it for now. I'm sure I forgot nine dozen things but that's the most of it. Cannot wait to make more progress and share with y'all! xO

Nursery Progress (Or lack thereof)

So now that we've officially moved, it's time to get ready for this baby. That is why we moved...so we'd have room for her!

Lucky little girl gets her own nursery, but it is pretty tiny. Good thing she'll be pretty tiny for a while! :)

Our changing table is from Target. Cannot find a direct link for it, sorry.

We have a changing pad so we just need the cover. Probably going to wait until her bedding arrives so I can see what I want. We also registered for these changing pad liners so we don't ruin a cute pad cover.

Right now I'm envisioning all the diaper essentials in baskets in those cubbies-- wipes, dipes, cream, whatever.

The nursery gets a ton of light, so we'll definitely need to find some curtains for both of the giant windows. Luckily my FIL hung the curtain rods so all we need to do is find curtains and plop them up there!

I'm going to wait on picking out curtains until we have her crib and bedding-- this way we'll see if we need a pop of color or stick with a neutral.

All her fluff was shoved in the bookcase (more on that back here) so I decided to throw her dipes in the changing table drawers. At least this way I don't have to worry the dogs are going to get into them! They still have to be stripped, prepped, and stuffed, but at least they are out of the way (for now).

Like that giraffe? The giraffe theme is really sticking. Someone sent that after they found out about Henry!

Right now the bookcase is holding random items people have sent that I'm not quite sure what to do with. I think we'll put the few stuffed animals (Raggedy Anne/Andy, giraffes, etc) on some shelves, the humidifier on a night stand, and the blanket draped on a rocker.

Still not sure what I'm going to do with her headbands.. any ideas? Either an apothecary jar or something like this

The clothes just sit on the floor. How awesome is that? I have no idea what we'll be doing for clothing storage because we don't have much room!

I'm not a fan of those "cube unit" things, but I think that's about all we can do.

If you have some suggestions, please let me know! No, we don't have a closet in the nursery. Boo. :(

And of course Henry! I am envisioning lots of shelves filled with books and picture frames above his head. We have some black Ikea shelves that I'm sure I'll end up painting white.

My husband is obsessed with these growth charts, so I'm sure we'll have one stuffed in a corner somewhere in here. He wants to prop our baby girl up on one the moment we get her home!

And while I'm linking to Etsy, I'm totally head over heels in love with these pom poms.

They are so much cuter than a mobile and so super easy to make! I will definitely be making at least 200 of these to throw up over her crib.

So far, that is all we have planned. I cannot wait to post more as we fill up her nursery! Thanks for all the love, people! xO
